I finally finished a sock!!! I can not believe I’ve done it, although it’s only one sock, I don’t have the mate done yet, but I actually finished knitting a sock!!

And look at those stitches!! So even…or at least they look even anyways…I used Modea Sassy Stripes yarn to make the sock.

I am so proud of myself…I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would be able to knit anything, let alone a sock!

Oh, gotta show ya’s my flower thingy…I love the way flowers look in this thing, not sure what to call it, but it’s really neat looking and a bouquet of flowers looks great in it!!

Update: Two of the baby birds flew away earlier this morning…And then there was one…

She teetered on the edge…

Now there are none…at Noon, the final bird left the nest…

And now that I’ve wasted a half day waiting for them to fly the coop…it’s time for me to knock down a nest and grab the hose…

It was fun watching the punks be born, and grow, and grow, and it was amazing to watch the last one leave…

Take a look at these punks…they are 2 weeks and one day old, and should be flying the coop this weekend. I think it’s time that they leave…they are using my window as toilet paper. They are wiping their butts on it, and I can’t do anything about it until they are gone. It’s gross!

And here is the reason they are pooping machines…

It was a week ago today that the robin’s were born on the sill of my window. I am amazed at how much they’ve grown in this one week.

Here are a couple of pictures showing their progress…

And another…

It certainly has been interesting watching them grown. Just about a week left before they leave the nest. I’m going to miss the little punks.

I was washing windows this morning, and when I opened the blind on one of the windows on the back of my house I was surprised to find this nest of robin’s eggs on my window sill.

I remember hearing something banging into the window last week, but never really paid attention to it.

This afternoon when I checked on the eggs, I found that 2 of them had hatched.

So I’ve been watching them all day long, and Mom and Dad bird have been flying away when I’d go over to the window.

I googled robin’s eggs, and found that once they’ve hatched it takes anywhere from 14 to 16 days before they leave the nest. So I’ll have to get pictures of the babies everyday before they leave, and then once they leave, I’ve got to get rid of that damn nest…

Oh dear, this is just too funny…I know this is a crochet blog, but I can not help but post this video here on my site. The old white guy should not have messed with the heiress ‘eh?

Quick update on the Sock.

I’ve passed the heel, and I’m now working on the gusset then onto the foot and lastly the toe. Don’t ya just love the colorway? The picture below shows one week’s worth of work. I am so not fast at this stuff at all…
